Nepal - Apply for Phytosanitary Certificate

Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for a Phytosanitary Certificate, Applicant shall approach the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture Development. Contact details are listed below under the “office locations and contacts” section.
  2. You have to submit an Application form to the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture Development.
  3. Application form can be found on the following link: Link scroll down and select “download PDF”
  4. Download the application form and fill up your details.
  5. Please make sure you have all the required documents that are listed under the “Required Document” section of this page.
  6. The applicant shall present the duly filled application form and documents to the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture Development.
  7. Once your application is registered and processed, the department schedules an inspection.
  8. The inspector inspects the shipment destined for export.
  9. Once the inspection yields satisfactory results, the inspector issues a Phytosanitary Certificate.




Required Documents

  • Application form
  • Commercial invoice
  • Import permit
  • Official identity card of the exporter
  • The clearance slip issued by the Department of Forests, in the case of forest products,
  • A recommendation letter of the Department of Archaeology in the case of goods of archaeological importance
  • Rs 10 postage stamp
  • Receipt or LC from concerned Bank
  • PAN/VAT Registration
