Licenses issued to residents 21 or younger expire on the license holders 21st birthday. Licenses issued to individuals 21 or older expire on the license holders birthday five years after the date of issue.

If you're a current Nebraska resident, you can request a new license by presenting proof of identification at the office of your nearest county official. You'll need one form of identification that shows your full legal name and birth date, and two forms that prove your principal address. Only original documents will be accepted; no faxes or photocopies are allowed. Duplicate licenses cost $13.50.

Your license will be mailed to you after about one week.

• You can expedite the process by ordering a duplicate license online. You can only use this option if:
• You have not changed your name or address since the issuance of your last license
• You have not applied for a duplicate license online within the last five years
• You hold a valid credit card (Visa, American Express, Discover)
• When applying online you must provide a telephone number and e-mail address. Allow 20 days for your new license to arrive by mail.

College students and other Nebraska residents who are temporarily living outside the state will need to complete an Out-of-State Duplicate License form to receive a duplicate license. Replacement licenses cost $13.50.
