Apply In-Person:

1. Approach the local RTO office near you to change or update the address or other information in driver license (DL).
2. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details.
3. Apply writing in a white A4 paper.
4. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
5. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
6. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
7. Verification of details submitted will be scrutinised to check for authenticity to make necessary changes.
   

Apply Online:

1. To Change Address or Name in Driver License, the applicant has to use the following link – link
2. Select online services popup menu and select driving licence related services.
3. In the new page select the respective department.
4. After selecting the state, click on the “apply for change address” in main menu.
5. Now open change address application instruction and click “continues” button.
6. Enter driving licence number and birth date click on “Get DL details”. click it to show the driving licence details and click on “process” button.
7. Select services section to change address.
8. Also upload the required documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
9. And pay the adequate amount of fee in the online mode.
10. Submit application successful after the new address add in driving licence.

Driving license is mandatory while driving a two wheeler or four wheeler and one must keep it up to date with the latest information.

• Under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 in India, no person can drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds a valid Driving License issued to him, authorizing him to drive a vehicle of that particular category.
• Driving without Driving license is an offense. Incumbent has to pay penalty
• It is a punishable offense to drive the vehicle without a valid license
• Those who are under 18 Years are not supposed to drive
