1. To renew your ID card, you will need to go to the office of National Directorate of Civil Identification.
2. You will need to bring with you the expiring/expired ID card or the new identity card number.
3. Complete an application for renewal and pay the renewal fee.

Provide eligibility criteria's for going through this procedure.

Renewal fees:

• If the card is issued to someone under the age of 18: 90, 00MT
• For over 18 years: 180, 00MT.

The ID card must be renewed after every 5 years, until the holder turns 40.

An ID card issued to cardholders who are between the age of 40 and 50 will be valid for 10 years.

And for ID cards issued to cardholders who are older than 50, the ID is valid for life.
