1. Go to the county clerk office.
2. Present and submit documents required.
3. Complete the application form.
4. Pay the marriage license fee.

• birth certificates, notarized translation of birth certificate (if it is printed in language other than English)
• blood test waiver (form available in the Clerk's office)
• certified copies of divorce decrees (if applicable)

• The legal age to get married in Montana is 18 years old.
• For under age applicants, you must be at least 16 years old and parents or a judge consent, as well as pre-marriage counseling are required.

A marriage license is valid for 6 months and can only be used in the state of Montana.

• For non-resident applicants, marriage license application can be obtained from the clerk in the county in which the ceremony will be performed.
• For one party who is a non-resident, his or her part can be sworn to or affirmed in the county and state in which he or she resides.
