Apply In-Person

1. The applicant shall visit the district government office of higher authorities. District Collector or District Commissioner is responsible.
2. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
3. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
5. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
6. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
7. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
8. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
9. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
10. The verification will be done by police and revenue department officers such as Tehsildars, etc.
11. After verification, if the authorities are satisfied with the report then the certificate will be processed.
12. Once it is processed, and the certificate is ready, the applicant will receive an SMS or call on the registered mobile number to collect it.
13. The applicant should carry the acknowledgement/receiving slip when going to collect the certificate from the office.

• Affidavit by the applicant on non-judicial stamp papers worth Rs. 3/- attested by the Executive Magistrate/Notary (Specimen enclosed).
• Attested photocopy of Tamra-Patra/Pension Payment order issued by the G.O.I. to the freedom fighter.
• Documentary evidence of place of residence at Chandigarh (Voter Card, Telephone/water/electricity bill)
• Copy of date of birth certificate of the children/grandchildren in whom favour the request for issuance of freedom fighter certificate is made.

• It is required to avail the benefits provided by the government for dependants of freedom fighters.
• Special reservation scheme is offered by the government. Seats are reseved in colleges for dependants of freedom fighter.
