a. Apply In-Person

1. PCC can be applied in-person at the “Chief of Police” as follows.
   1. Applicants of Pohnpei: Public Safety Office, Kolonia, Pohnpei, Federated State of Micronesia (FSM) 96941.
   2. Applicantsof Kosrae: Office of the Attorney General, P.O. Box 27, Lelu, Kosrae, FSM 96944.
   3. Applicants of Truk: Public Safety Office, Moen, Truk, FSM 96942.
   4. Applicants of Yap: Public Safety Office, Colonia, Yap, FSM 96943.
2. Application forms can be obtained from the respective office on your visit.
3. Go to the respective office. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
4. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents.
5. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
6. This application will be processed by respective department.
7. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in-person or will be delivered through mail upon notification or issued as per norms.

Applying process – overseas for citizen and non-citizen

a. Apply through mail(post)

1. Applicant has to apply with the “Chief of Police” to obtain the PCC through mail(post).
2. Please attach the completed application, required document and fee paid details.
3. Mail(post) these set of documents to:

• A copy of your passport while living in Micronesia.
• A copy of your permit of stay in Micronesia, passport number and place of issue as well.
• Proofs of legal stay (copy of passport held during the said period with respective stamp and seal).

• Police clearance must be obtained from your country of citizenship or from your place of residency within the last six (6) months.
• You should apply in person or by mail by completing an application form, presenting your passport and social security number or entry permit number (foreign residents) and paying the applicable fees. Applications should be made to Chief of Police.

The applicant must provide a full set of his/her fingerprints, preferably taken at their nearest police station. The applicants full name, surname, date of birth, place of birth and identity number must also be recorded on the fingerprint form. A copy of the applicants identity document or passport must accompany the application. The applicant must present their identity document at the police station, as proof of identity will be required.

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

Police certificate is also known as good citizen certificate, good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, or judicial record extracts. Applicants may have to submit fingerprints and certain personal information to request a criminal record check, and the police or government agency may charge a fee. If no record found, the police certificate will indicate such.

Citizens: Provide the application form with your full name, date of birth, present and previous addresses and your social security number.

Non-citizens: Provide the application form, your passport and entry permit number. The application form is available from the checking officer at the police station.

In many immigration cases you may be requested by relevant Government to present Police Clearance Certificate from another country where you have resided for some time. If you are going through immigration process, you will definitely be asked for such a certificate.
