Apply In-Person:

1. To Request a Modification to the Well Drilling Authorization, the applicant has to approach the National Hydrocarbons Commission link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. The regulatory authority will review the applicant’s modification request and assess its technical and environmental implications.
10. They will evaluate the feasibility, safety, and compliance of the proposed modifications with applicable laws and regulations. This may involve consultations with experts, technical evaluations, and internal assessments.
11. Based on the review and evaluation, the regulatory authority will decide on the modification request.
12. If the modifications are deemed acceptable and comply with the regulations, the authority will approve the requested changes. Alternatively, they may request further clarification or modifications before approval.
13. Once the modification request is approved, the applicant can proceed with implementing the approved changes to the well drilling activities.
14. Ensure that all relevant parties involved, such as drilling contractors, are informed and follow the modified procedures accordingly.
15. This entire process can be completed within 3 - 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
