Meghalaya - Apply for Senior Citizen Certificate

Apply through Phone Call

  • You can apply by calling "14567" which is a National Helpline for the Elders and they should be able to facilitate you to get a Senior Citizen Certifiate or Identity Card.



Apply Online through Megedistrict Portal

  1. To apply online, please use the following link : Megedistrict Portal
  2. In the page, scroll down on the heading "e-District Services", you will be able to see an option "Senior Citizen Card".
  3. You should be able to see the "Apply" option on the right, if you scroll to the right. Click on it to start the application process.
  4. You will be presented with a login option where you can enter the credentials for logging in Or register yourself by clicking the "Register Here" option and proceed with registration and login to apply.



Apply through CSC:

  1. To apply for Senior Citizen Certificate, the applicant has to approach the nearest CSC : Link
    NOTE:To check the contact details of the CSC centre, please select the District and Block.
  2. The applicant has to visit the nearest centre.
  3. The applicant has to inform all the details to the respective operator.
  4. The operator will enter the details in the portal with the given details.
  5. The applicant apply through the operator.
  6. Please pay as per applicable service charges if any.



Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for the senior citizen certificate, please approach the concerned Personnel & A.R. Department, Office of the Deputy Commissioner.
  2. Following link provides contact details: Contact Details
  3. Please go to the respective office to get details for applying and also the application form.

  5. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
  6. Submit the completed form along with the documents to the concerned authority.
  7. This application will be processed internally. Verification of submitted documents will also be carried.
  8. After successful completion, Certificate will be delivered to the applicant through postal or in person as per the applicable norms.
  9. The whole process of issuing the Senior Citizen Certificate will take 7 working days.

  • Two photographs of the applicant.
  • Aadhaar card
  • ID card of the applicant (Pension book/ School certificate/ Identity Card issued by competent authority OR Bank passbook with photo)
  • Residential Proof(Ration cards/Valid Passport/Voter ID card)
  • Pan card ( For Monthly Pension above Rs.15,000 per month)
  • Birth certificate / document to prove the age
  • Residence certificate issued by Competent Authority for the said period as required.

Get the senior citizen certificate from the concerned circle officer or DC office.

Following are the required information to apply for the senior citizen certificate

  • Age of the applicant
  • Ration card details





Need for the Document

  • The Government of India provides facilities for citizens above the age of 60 years. In order to avail those facilities one has to get the certificate.
  • The senior citizen certificate will allow the holder to receive numerous benefits like discounts in Railways, Flights and other benefits from the government.




Information which might help

  • Without cross signature(half on paper and half on photograph) and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
  • One has to produce the card to prove the authorities whenever asked for. So, this card must be carried always.
NOTE : It is a punishable offense to try with fraudulent documents to get a Senior citizen certificate
