Mauritius - Obtain a Certificate of Morality


Procedure

Apply In Person

  1. To apply for a Certificate of Morality, applicants should make the application to the Police Divisional Headquarters where they reside. Please view the Mauritius Police Force contact details through this Contact Details.
  2. Obtain the application form for the Certificate of Morality from the Police Divisional Headquarters office in your location or download the application directly through this Application For Certificate of Morality and complete it as required.
  3. Then gather and prepare all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below for your application and attach the document to the completed application form in a single file.
  4. Then visit the Police Divisional Headquarters office and pay the application fee as mentioned in the “Fees” section at the cashier’s office and obtain the payment receipt.
  5. Then submit the application file along with the payment receipt to the officer at the service desk.
  6. The officer will verify your application and if it is completed as required and all the documents are attached, the officer will issue you the applicant an acknowledgment receipt of receiving the application.
  7. The application will then be processed by the relevant officials and availed for collection within six weeks.
  8. Visit the Police Divisional Headquarters office at the turnaround time and collect the Certificate of Morality.


Apply Form Abroad.

  1. Applicants from abroad should make the application to their nearest Mauritius embassy or consulate. Please view the Honorary Consuls of Mauritius abroad contact details through this Consuls Contact Details.
  2. Contact the consulate office and make an appointment for the application and then visit the office and obtain the application form for the Certificate of Morality.
  3. Complete the application form accordingly and attach all the required documents to the application form in a single file.
  4. On the date scheduled for the application, visit the consulate office and pay the application.
  5. Then submit the application file to the responsible consulate official.
  6. The official will assess the application and issue the acknowledgment receipt of receiving your application.
  7. The application will then be processed and availed for collection within six weeks.
  8. Visit the consulate office and collect the certificate of Morality.

  • National Identity Card/ Passport for Non-Citizen.
  • Marriage Certificate (where applicable).
  • Proof of Residence in Mauritius.

  • Any Citizen of Mauritius and Non-Citizen who holds a resident/ work permit in Mauritius are eligible to apply.




Fees

  • The application fee for individuals is Rs. (MUR) 100 and for companies is Rs. (MUR) 300.
