Mauritius - Obtain Registration Certificate as a Safety and Health Officer

Apply In Person

  1. To apply for a Registration Certificate as a Safety and Health Officer, the applicant should make the application to the Occupational Safety and Health department under the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training. Please view the Ministry’s contact details through this Contact Details.
  2. Visit the ministry's office and obtain the application form or download the form directly through this Application form.
  3. Read and complete the application form as required and then prepare all the required supporting documents and attach the documents to the application form.
  4. Then visit the ministry’s office and pay the registration fees of Rs. (MUR) 550 at the cashier’s desk and obtain the payment receipt.
  5. The applicant should then submit the application file to the official at the service desk of the Occupational Safety and Health department.
  6. The official will check if the application meets the required standards and forward it to the responsible officer for processing.
  7. The application will be evaluated by the office of the permanent secretary and if it meets the required merits for registration, the application will be approved.
  8. Once approved the applicant will be informed of the approval through his/her contact details.
  9. The applicant should re-visit the ministry’s office and collect the registration certificate from the Occupational Safety and Health department.

  • relevant qualification certificate (copy and originals)
  • Documentary evidence of employment as Safety and Health Officer.
  • Copy of work Plan
  • Any other additional documents requested by the Permanent Secretary
