3. The applicant must complete an application form for Certificate of Registration to a Commonwealth Citizen.
4. To complete their application process, the applicant must fill out the application form, as well as submit the necessary documents which can be found under the “Required Document” section of this page.
5. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
6. The applicant is required to appear in person for a biometric scan and interview at the Defence and Home Affairs Division.
7. If the applicant is unable to appear in person for the biometric scan and interview, he/she is required to provide an authorization letter with a copy of the identity document of the authorized person and a copy of the marriage certificate.
8. The authorized person should be prepared to provide his/her contact details, such as telephone number, address and email address, to facilitate communication and ensure the necessary parties are able to contact him/her in a timely and efficient manner.
9. Once the application for a Certificate of Registration of Foreign Spouse has been approved, the applicant will be provided with the document, thus officially registering them as a foreign spouse.
10. The applicant is required to submit a copy of the renewed passport of the foreign spouse, in case of renewal of the Certificate of Registration of Foreign Spouse.
11. The processing time for obtaining a Certificate of Registration to a Foreign Spouse is 4 to 6 weeks.
