Apply In Person:
- To Get Permit or License for Bottling Plant in person, the applicant should contact the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection in Mauritius.

- The Ministry will provide the applicant with the necessary forms and information required to obtain a permit or license.
- The applicant must provide a detailed explanation of their proposed activities and a comprehensive business plan for the bottling plant.
- The application must also include the applicant’s business plan, financial statements, list of machinery and equipment to be used, health and safety compliance documents and other relevant documents that are required by the Ministry.
- The application must be accompanied by all relevant documents such as the proposed location of the plant, the layout of the plant and the environmental impact assessment report and they can be found under the ‘Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant should also pay the required fees for the Manufacturing Permit or License for Recycling.
- A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
- Applicants should submit the form along with the necessary documents to the relevant authority in Mauritius.
- The Ministry will review the application and provide feedback on its contents.
- Then the applicant will be notified of the results after the reviewed and will be provided with further instructions at that time.
- Once the application is approved, the applicant will be informed by email or telephone to get the permit or license.
- Then the applicant should go to the relevant local authorities and the applicant will be issued a License for Bottling Plant.
- Then the applicant must comply with all the requirements of the permit or license and ensure that their activities are in line with the local laws and regulations.
- Generally, the processing time for such permits or licenses can take 6 months from date of submission.

Eligibility
- In Mauritius, anyone over the age of 18 is eligible to apply for a permit or license to operate a bottling plant.
- The applicant must also have a valid business registration and must submit a detailed business plan.
Fees
- A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the Authority’s request.
Validity
- The permit or license is valid for a period of three years and must be renewed annually.

Instructions
The Mauritius government requires that all bottling plants obtain a license from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection to operate legally. The process for obtaining a license for a bottling plant in Mauritius is outlined below:
- Submit an application form to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection.
- Provide a detailed description of the bottling plant, including its size, location, type of product, and production capacity.
- Provide a copy of the site plan and a written description of the proposed building plan.
