Apply In-Person:
- To Get Manufacturing Permit or License for Recycling in person, the applicant should contact the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection link
- The Ministry will provide the applicant with the necessary forms and information required to obtain a permit or license.
- The applicant will need to fill in all the information on the application form.
- The application process requires that the applicant should provide information about their company, including name, address, contact information and type of business.
- The applicant should provide information about the type of recycling that will be conducted, such as the types of materials that will be recycled and the method of recycling that will be used.
- The applicant should also provide information about any environmental regulations that will be followed and any health and safety measures that will be taken.
- Along with the application form, the applicant will need to provide supporting documents including a copy of the company’s business registration certificate, a copy of the company’s tax registration certificate, and a copy of the company’s waste management plan and they can be found under the ‘Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant should also pay the required fees for the Manufacturing Permit or License for Recycling.
- A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
- Applicants should submit the form along with the necessary documents to the relevant authority in Mauritius.
- The Ministry will review the application and provide feedback on its contents.
- Then the applicant will be notified of the results within a few weeks after the reviewed and will be provided with further instructions at that time.
- Once the application is approved, the applicant will be informed by email or telephone to get the permit or license.
- Then the applicant should go to the relevant local authorities and the applicant will be issued a Manufacturing Permit or License for Recycling.
- Applicants should ensure that all the conditions of the permit or license are fulfilled, and that all applicable laws and regulations are followed.
- The applicant should also ensure that the recycling activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner, and that they comply with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- The applicant should also keep records of all the recycling activities that are conducted and submit these records to the Ministry as required.
- The processing time for getting a Manufacturing Permit or License for Recycling takes between six and eight weeks.

- A list of all personnel involved in the manufacturing activity and their responsibilities
- A copy of the Health and Safety Plan
- A copy of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report
- Proof of payment of the necessary fees

Eligibility
- In Mauritius, any company that wishes to set up a recycling facility must obtain a manufacturing permit or license from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
