Mali - Apply for a Residence Certificate


Procedure

Apply In-Person

  1. Applicant should visit the general secretariat office at the police station or the deputy mayor/person in charge of civil status office at the town hall near you and express your interest.
  2. Submit the supporting documents (listed below under required document section) to the authorized official to be verified, if the authorized official is satisfied that all the documents are in order, you will be advised to pay the application fee at the cash counter, upon which you will be issued with an acknowledgment slip.
  3. Upon making payment the authorized official fills in the application form on your behalf and proceeds with its registration and then forward it, to be approved and signed by the commissioner or the mayor.
  4. Re-visit the office you had file the application with, with you identification document and acknowledgement slip and collect the residence certificate.

For Adults
Valid identity card or birth certificate.

For minor children:

  • Identity card and extracts of the child's birth certificate and stamp
  • Identity card in the absence of a copy of the birth certificate
  • Tax stamp
  • For the guardian's children, extract of birth certificate.
