1. To register as Sole Proprietorship in Maldives, the applicant has to contact the Ministry of Economic Development.
2. The application can be made in-person or through on-line.
3. While submitting the application form, please make sure you have attached all the appropriate documents that are listed under the Required Documents section of this page.
4. After successful completion of registration of a company, the applicant will be provided with the following documents : Certificate, Registration Letter, Endorsed Memorandum and Article of Association and Payment Receipt.

• You need to get the business name approved by the Registrar of Companies prior to registration.
• You must not already have a Sole Proprietorship registered under your name.
• You must be a Maldivian individual above 18 years of age.
• Payment by cheque is acceptable only with bank guarantees.
