There are two types of amateur license a temporary license or a yearly license, for which the following steps are explained.

1. To obtain a amateur radio permit or license for communication purposes the applicant has to contact the Communication Authority of Maldives.
2. A completed application form should be submitted along the appropriate documents. Following link provides you information about application forms that can be used : Application forms
3. If a copy of a foreign amateur radio license is available, please attach a copy of it along with the application.
4. If equipment is approved, submit revenue stamp of Rf 100/- and a license fee of Rf100/- for a one year licence or Rf 25/- for a temporary license. Revenue stamp will be available from the Ministry of Finance & Treasury, the Post Office and CAM.
5. If everything is approved the license or permit will be provided within 3 working days.
