Malaysia - Register as a Building Draughtsmen (Draftmen)


Procedure

  1. To register as a Building Draughtsmen or Draftsmen the applicant has to contact the Board of Architects Malaysia.
  2. Applicants who are eligible on one of the requirements explained under section "Eligibility" will be required to pass a Proficiency Test before being allowed to sit for a Drawing Test and appear for an interview before the Registration Committee of the Board.
  3. A completed application form along with documents that are listed under the Required Documents section should be submitted.




Required Documents

  • 2 copies of recent photographs
  • a copy of Identity Card / Passport
  • Certified true copies of certificates / diplomas / degrees
  • Testimonials from present and past employees
  • Registration fee for the amount of RM 200.00 with RM 100.00 for processing fee vide cheque / money order / bank draft in favour of 'Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia

Note : All documents submitted must be certified as true copies by a Professional Architect registered with the Board.

Eligibility

The applicant shall be a citizen or permanent resident of Malaysia having one of the following qualifications:

  • Malaysian Certificate of Education (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) or its equivalent with a minimum of eighteen (18) years of relevant working experience on a full time basis as a building draughtsman under the training and employment of a Professional Architect or a registered Building Draughtsman. OR
  • Diploma in Architecture from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) or the equivalent with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant full time working experience as in above.
