Application for PTPTN loan can only be done using online at http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway. Hard copy loan applications are no longer accepted.
Applying for a Student Loan Banks
Not all banks offer loans for education. Most of them provide personal loans, which are basically credit for customers granted for personal use, including education. Some organizations also offer loans for overseas studies.

There are mainly three types of loans for undergraduate students in Malaysia: Bank Education Loans, Government Education Loans, and Other Education Loans. Some universities or colleges might also offer loans, but usually in partnership with a financial institution.

An education loan is basically funding provided by an entity (typically the government, a bank, or an organisation) to help a student pursue their studies by covering things such as their tuition fees, cost of books, and living expenses.
Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) scheme enables students in local institutions of higher education to obtain an education loan from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) to finance their education fees.
PTPTN Education Financing Scheme was established for the purpose of providing education financing to students pursuing studies in local institutions of higher education. This education financing will enable students to finance fully or partially the course fees and their cost of living for the duration of their study. The loan disbursement will be credited directly to the student's personal account with CIMB Bank.
The first loan payment is released only after the completed agreement is accepted by PTPTN. The subsequent payments will be made after PTPTN receives confirmation from the University that the student is progressing into the next semester and has scored not less than 50% in Weighted Average Mark (WAM) or a PASS in the previous semester.
