Maharashtra - Obtain a Below Poverty Line (BPL) Certificate


Procedure

Apply In-Person

  1. To Obtain a Below Poverty Line (BPL) Certificate the applicant has to approach the respective state Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department
  2. Contact link Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Department Government Of Maharashtra– BDO link please select the district as per the map to reach next page. In the given page please select menu option “DIRECTORY>PUBLIC CONVENIENCE>Municipality” OR “DIRECTORY>PUBLIC UTILITIES > Municipalities” OR “ABOUT THE DISTRICT” > “Who’s (Whose) who” to get contact details AND Panchayat contact link link in the given page please select the hyperlink against the respective state as per requirement for contact details.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  8. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
  11. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.



Apply Online (Through Aaplesarkar Portal)

  1. To Obtain a Below Poverty Line (BPL) Certificate, the applicant can make the application via Aaplesarkar Portal by using the following link link
  2. The applicant has to enter the user ID and password and click “Login Now. If the applicant doesn’t have an account the applicant can click on “Register Now” and register an account.
  3. Then the applicant has to click the “Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department” menu and select “Below Poverty Line (BPL) Certificate” and read the instruction and click “Apply”.
  4. Next Select Registration – Form, fill out the online form, and submit.
  5. The applicant will get the application Id and the application screen will be closed.
  6. Open the application submitting application id and see the status of the application and the instruction given on the right side of the screen.
  7. If Status is uploaded document, then click upload the documents on right side instructions.
  8. By Clicking on the documents which want to upload browse will appear and upload all the required documents with the above same procedure.
  9. Then Click upload document at the bottom and see the status again which will show for payment.
  10. Click on pay the fees on the right-side button and choose the option of payment and make payment.
  11. Check the status it will show "under scrutiny" which means your application is on the desk for scrutiny check the status regularly, either it is "approved” or "rejected”
  12. If rejected check your mail and follow the instruction given in the mail and read the instructions.
  13. If you see the status "completed” and the "Download certificate” on the right side of your screen Then you can download the Registration certificate or check the mail for permit.



Apply Through Mobile App

  1. To Obtain a Below Poverty Line (BPL) Certificate, the applicant can make the application via RTS Maharashtra app link
  2. After installing the app, click on “Getting Started” and “select language” to start the application.
  3. Then the applicant has to click the “Rural Development” menu and select “Below Poverty Line Certificate” and read the instruction and click “Apply”.
  4. Next the applicant has to enter the user ID and password and click “Login Now. If the applicant doesn’t have an account the applicant can click on “Register Now” and register an account.
  5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  6. Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. Review the application and click “Submit”
  8. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  9. An acknowledgment receipt will be displayed. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
  10. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  11. The applicant can check the status of the application by clicking on “Track” menu by entering the department and application ID.



Apply Through CSC centre

  1. To Obtain a Below Poverty Line (BPL) Certificate, the applicant has to approach nearby Common Service Center (CSC) Link
    • Note: The applicant has to select their state, district and block from the drop-down menu or the applicant can click on their respective district to find nearby center.
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the applicant has to provide their details to the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
  4. The applicant has to attach or provide the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (If required).
  5. Submit the completed application, document and applicable fees to the centre staff.
  6. Application submitted will be processed and receipt with application number will be issued.
  7. The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.

  • Residential Proof: Residential Certificate issued by Local administration office/ Aadhar card / Passport / Driving License / Ration Card / Govt. Id card / Defence ID Card / PAN Card.
  • Age proof (birth certificate / school certificate)
  • Applicant passport size photograph.
  • Aadhaar card
  • Affix stamp as advised by authorities if required.
Note:
  • All original and copy of original with self attestation as advised by respective authorities to be submitted as per requirement.
  • Apart from the above documents authorities may ask to submit additional information or documents. Please provide them for processing.

Eligibility

  • The income limit for qualifying as a beneficiary under the BPL (below poverty line) list has been fixed as Rs. 27,000 per annum and in some state the amount varies as per G.O.
  • Applicant must be a resident of the state
  • Citizen of India
