• Under the “National Mission for Protein Supplements (NMPS)”, the respective state Animal Husbandry department is implementing pig development scheme. The beneficiaries are identified/selected by the Panchayati Raj Institutions or similar Local Government Institutions/line departments.

Apply In-Person:

1. The local panchayat official or the concerned animal husbandry authority will inform the deserving pig farm owners to provide the requirements. Also, the deserving pig farm owners shall approach the local panchayat office or the respective district animal husbandry office or the government veterinary doctor to get the scheme details.
2. 3. Please visit the office and get the information about registering for the pig development scheme. The concerned authority will provide the details to register for this scheme along with the list of documents that are required to apply.
4. The applicant will be provided with an application form, or please write the application on an A4 sheet as advised.
5. Please complete the application form. Attach the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the designated receiving authority in person.
6. On receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the application details and documents.
7. If all are in place, the application will be accepted. The applicant shall follow the authority’s guidelines. The applicant will be provided with the details of the next set of actions that will follow to get the benefit.
8. The applicant may be issued an acknowledgement. Please keep it safe for future reference.
9. The department will send updates about the application status through ”SMS” to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
10. This application will be processed internally. If the applicant meets the prerequisite for the program as per the District Agriculture Plan – DAP, the applicant will be considered for the program.
11. The department will forward the case with recommendation to the sanctioning authority for inducting the applicant for the pig development scheme.
12. The status, viz. approval, will be conveyed to the applicant directly or by the local authorities designated for the implementation of the project.
13. The whole process shall be completed within the financial year as per the timeline as appropriate or as per the advised time period. No fee is required for this procedure. But, please adhere to the department / authority’s advice on payment/charges if any.

• The enrolment for pig development scheme entitles a pig farm to improve the productivity within the given time period with the guidance from the government agencies.

• The scheme is aimed at developing the infrastructure in terms of pig sheds and related facilities. Increase their rearing capacity and elevate the breeding stock condition. Therefore, it is proposed to make a thorough assessment of the pig breeding infrastructure and strengthen their infrastructure to enable each one of them to rear a minimum strength of 100 breeding sows.
• The main objective is to promote availability of high grade cross-bred piglets through pig breeding and multiplication units.

• The government sanctions 100 % grant as subsidy for different activities under the scheme.
