To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.
Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Widow Pension,you have to approach the Gram Panchayat / Janpad Panchayat, in the urban area, in the office of Municipal Corporation / Municipality / Nagar Panchayat

3. Get the application form from the concerned officer or write it on an A4 Sheet.
4. Fill the application form with necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the Concerned Officer.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quotes.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. After all the verification they will credit your pension amount each month through your bank account.

Note : You can also apply online through the nearest Public Service Center.

Apply In-Person through Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, visit the Corporation office.

5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned officer in the Corporation office.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.

SSP Widow Pension Eligibility :

• The applicant must be from BPL category .
• The applicant must be a Widow.
• Age 18-39 years.

Eligibility to apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

• The applicant must be from BPL category (with a valid BPL id)
• The applicant must be a widow.
• The applicant must be above 40 years of age.
•  An amount of Rs 300/- is payable to such pensioners aged between 40-79 years.
• After attaining the age of 80 years, the beneficiary will get Rs 500 per month.
