1. To apply for an emergency travel document, you will need to fill out an application by hand (if the application refers for minors it is submitted by both parents in person or by the parent acting as the legal guardian).
2. Submit the completed form together with these following documents:
   1. One photograph sized 3,5 cm x 4,5 cm
   2. Proof of identity (original and valid Macedonian or foreign document including a photograph). If the document for proof of identity is not submitted, the identity can be verified by certified witness statements, and the emergency travel document is issued upon the approval from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Macedonia).
   3. Proof of citizenship status (valid ID card, passport or original Certificate of Citizenship of the Republic of Macedonia). If the proof of citizenship status is not submitted, the emergency travel document can be issued with the prior approval from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Macedonia.

Get in touch with the nearest diplomatic-consular missions of the Republic of Macedonia in the country where you are currently staying. A link is provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" which you can use to contact the embassy.

• Proof of paid consular fee in the amount of 30.00 EUR, if the emergency travel document is issued without prior approval, i.e., 36.00 EUR, if the emergency travel document is issued with the prior approval from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Macedonia. Nationals with national currencies other than the Euro pay the fee in their corresponding national currency.
• For some countries, along with the emergency travel document a confirmation by the competent bodies must also be provided stating that the permanent travel document has been lost or stolen.

Diplomatic-consular missions of the Republic of Macedonia

An emergency travel document is issued to Macedonian nationals whose passport has expired, or the passport has been damaged, lost or stolen.

Furthermore, the emergency travel document can be issued to a new born baby which as of yet does not possess a Macedonian passport and needs to travel urgently to the Republic of Macedonia.

The emergency travel document is a travel document that serves the exclusive purpose of returning to the Republic of Macedonia and is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.
