Liechtenstein - Apply for Minor Passport


Procedure

  1. Go to the Immigration and Passport Office. The child must go personally with a legal representative.
  2. Complete the application form.
  3. Submit the required documents.
  4. Have your Biometrics taken (fingerprints and signature capturing).
  5. Pay the passport application fee.
  6. The passport can be collected from application delivery to 4 business days.

For Liechtenstein Nationals Residing Abroad (except Switzerland):

  1. Go to a Swiss Representation Office. The child must go personally with a legal representative.
  2. Complete the application form.

  3. Submit the required documents.
  4. Have your Biometrics taken (fingerprints and signature capturing).
  5. Pay the passport application fee.
  6. The Swiss embassy sends this data to the Immigration and Passport Office, which created the passport and forwards it to the Swiss embassy. The person concerned will be informed once the passport can be collected.

Eligibility

Minor passports are applicable to children, minors and wards. Those who are aged 15 years and below.




Fees

Fees and Surcharges:

  • Adults - CHF 150.00
  • Children under 15 years - CHF 50.00
  • Express exhibition - CHF 225.00 (+ 50%)
    • Children under 15 years - CHF 75.00
  • Outside opening times - CHF 300.00 (+ 100%)
    • Children under 15 years - CHF 100.00
  • Shipping (postage) - CHF 6.00

Notes:

  • For passports issued through express processing, a surcharge of 50% is to be paid.
  • For passports issued outside opening times, a surcharge of 100% is to be paid.




Validity

  • A Child Passport is valid for 3 years.

Instructions

  • Applications for a passport are made in person at the Immigration and Passport Office.
  • Application Abroad:
    • Liechtenstein nationals who are residing abroad can apply for a passport to the competent Swiss representation. Liechtenstein agencies do not issue passports.
    • Liechtenstein nationals who are residents in Switzerland must submit a passport application at the Immigration and Passport Office in Vaduz.
    • In addition to the application stage for a passport or an identity card, it is also possible to make an application for a passport and an identity card to the competent Swiss representation simultaneously.

Children, minors and wards must also apply for a passport. They must be accompanied by their legal representative.

The data stored on the passport can be read without contact over a short distance. When passport extensive privacy and security measures are in place. Thus, the stored data will be stored so that they can not be changed after the personalization of the passport.
