An Identity Card is a valid proof of identity for Liechtenstein nationals. The Liechtenstein nationals are required to carry them and display under certain circumstances.
Holders of a Liechtenstein identity card with a biometric chip can apply to use lisign, a service facilitating the use of electronic verification and signatures.
The identity card can be used at home and abroad as proof of identity, particularly within the Schengen area, unless other passes are required. In the identity map is the possibility of the electronic signature (lisign). Customers who want to use this service, receive an identification card with a chip, which is the basis for "lisign" (electronic identification and signature of the provincial administration).
Please explain what are other uses of obtaining this document/certificate. e.g. Birth Certificate can be used as proof of identity.
