Lesotho - Obtain an Occupancy Certificate

How to Apply

  1. Applicants should visit the Maseru City Council (MCC), Building control Department office and submit the supporting documents (listed below) to the attending officer to be verified and schedule an inspection date.
  2. On the schedule date the inspector(s) will visit the premise/building to inspect it and write a report. The applicant or a representative has to be there to attend the inspection visit.
  3. A copy of the report finding will be given to the applicant and if any modification or upgrading is required, you will be required rectify the problem.
  4. Upon successful rectifying the problem(s), a follow-up inspection may be conducted by the inspection team to ascertain the effectiveness of the implementation (where applicable).
  5. If the inspector is satisfied that the building /premises meet the required standard to be occupied, he/she will fill, sign and stamp the permit to occupy the building and issue it to you.
