How to Apply
- Applicants should visit the C.T. POOPA Consulting Attorney & Notary Public, Attorney’s Reception office with their lease (original and copy) and have them certified at a cost of 5 LSL per page.
- You should then visit the Maseru City Council (MCC), Revenue collector department office with proof of paid of all the municipal taxes receipts (property rate, municipal fees) and obtain the municipal services clearance certificate.
- The municipal services clearance certificate is usually issued to the landlord, but any applicant willing to pay the municipal taxes can get it if he/she provides a sublease agreement or proof that the landlord paid the municipal service fees.
- The applicant should then visit the landlord’s building, Pioneer mall department office and submit the sublease signed by the landlord premises, the municipal services clearance certificate and a certified copy of the lease to be verified and approved.
- Re-visit the Maseru City Council, Health and Environment Department, office and submit the supporting documents (listed below).
- The documents will then be forwarded to the Health Inspector’s office to be verified and schedule an inspection date.
- On the schedule date the inspector(s) will visit the premise and inspect the premises. The applicant or a representative has to be there to attend the inspection visit.
- After 5 working days applicants are required to visit the Health Inspector’s office and obtain an overview report conclusion of the inspection.
- The inspector will then fill and sign the certificate of inspection and issue it to the applicant along with a receipt of the amount to be paid at the cashier's (10% of the license fee).
- Submit the unstamped certificate of inspection to be cashier office and pay the 10% of the license fee, upon which you will be issued with a receipt.
- You should then submit the payment receipt and unstamped certificate of inspection, to the Health and Environment Department to have the certificate of health stamped to make it final and official.

- Application form for Trader license (original) filled with the relevant activity
