Procedure
Apply via Agent
- Medicine Import permit can be obtained from the Ministry of Health and the address information are found under the section Office Locations & Contacts of this page.
- Submit the application letter requesting for the Import license with all the documents that are listed under the Required Documents section of this page to the Ministry of Health.
- After your application has been validated and high level checking is completed successfully the application will be approved and an Ixport permit will be issued.
Required Documents
- Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (this is a license approved by Medicine Regulatory Unit (Ministry of Health) from country of origin.)
- Manufacturing License (this is a license issued to a medicine manufacturing Company obtainable from Ministry of Trade.)
- Certificate of Registration (this is a certificate that the product has been registered and it is in use in the country of origin.)
- Import License (Export/import (Traders) license this is a license issued to Trader/ individual for exporting/importing medicines)
- Certificate of Analysis (this is a certificate that provides laboratory results.)
- GMP certificate (Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Certificate this is to certify that the company meets the international standards of manufacturing medicines.)
- ISO Certificate (International standards organization (ISO) certificate this is a certificate that meets international standards)
- Certificate of donation (Certificate of Donation this is a certificate that depicts that the supplied products is a donation.)
- IDA approval (International Drug Association (IDA) approval this is an approval from international organization for market access.)
- Free sales certificate / SADAC Certificate (this is an approval for market access within member states issued by SADC control board.)
- CE certificate ( (European Conformity) certificate this is an approval for market access within member states)
- Pro-forma invoice to Ministry of Health (MRU) is alo needed.
