1. You must immediately report the loss or theft of your travel document / passport to the local police. You will be asked to present the Police Report later on when you apply for an Emergency Travel Certificate and when you apply for a replacement passport.
2. Go to the nearest Lebanese Embassy / General Consulate to apply for an Emergency Travel Certificate. Complete an application and submit it together with your valid identification and other required documents.
3. An Emergency Certificate will be issued by the Embassy / General Consulate which would enable the person to travel home to Lebanon (one way trip).

• Completed application form
• A copy of the police report.
• Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship: Valid identification or personal civil registration
• Three posts in a newspaper, either in three different newspapers or in the same newspaper for three days.

If your passport was lost or stolen while you are abroad and you have an immediate need to return to Lebanon and there is no time to apply for a new travel document, then you may obtain an Emergency Travel Certificate.
