Certificates are obtained from the registry office. You may request for a copy of a certificate by completing an application and presenting a valid identification.

If you are outside Latvia

You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Latvian missions and honorary consuls in the country you are currently staying. They may be able to help you submit your request a copy of a birth certificate.

Embassy representatives may ask you to complete an application form and submit a copy of the information page of the person's passport. Applicants must also be ready to present a valid identification.
