Kosovo - Replace Lost or Stolen ID Card

  1. Report the lost of the ID card to the police. The police will issue a report regarding the incident. You will need to present this report when you apply for a replacement card.
  2. Applications to replace a lost or stolen ID card must be submitted together with these following documents:
    1. Two photos
    2. One of the identity documents of FRY: Identity card, military card, passport, driving license, index, or any other document from a foreign country,
    3. Bill with address of year 2003/2004 (electricity, phone, water, waste, tax bill or house or apartment contract),
    4. UNMIK identity card of the person on whose name the bill is.

  • Bill with address of year 2003/2004 (electricity, phone, water, waste, tax bill or house or apartment contract),
  • UNMIK identity card of the person on whose name the bill is.

Note: The same proofs serve for the persons born after year 1970, who previously didnt have identity documents. Applicants must be accompanied by both parents at the time of the application.

Other uses of the Document/Certificate

An identity card is a document issued to a citizen stating the holders' name, citizenship, gender, date of birth, place of birth and the address where the holder resides.

Identity cards can be presented as identification document when you cross state borders, as long as there is an existing agreement between states.
