Kerala - Request for a New Street Light


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To request for a new street light, please visit the Municipal Corporation/Village Panchayat/ town panchayat Office of your respective area.
  2. The address and contact details of the Head municipal office can be found in the following Contact Link.
  3. Visit the Office and get the Application form for new street light from the relevant department or you can write a requisition letter on plain A4 sheet.
  4. Please fill the application with essential information and details and it should be attested with the applicant’s signature and signature of at least 20 people residing in the street.
  5. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed in “Required Documents” section of this page. Attach all the important documents mentioned.
  6. Then, it should be submitted to the relevant authority. Also pay the required fees for the application process at the office as directed by the officials. Please collect the acknowledgement slip for paid fee. Keep it safe for future reference.
  7. And your application and attached documents will be passed for verification to check if there is any discrepancy.
  8. The officials will inform you the initiation process by any applicable means, once the government approve the request. After all the processes are completed, concerned officials will approve the request and proceed with setting up the new street light in your area.


Apply online:

  1. Visit the following portal: portal.
  2. Choose “Domestic” or “non-Domestic” according to requirement.
  3. Click on “online registration” and fill in the required details to sign up.
  4. Now log in with given credentials and fill the form.
  5. Pay the required fee to submit the application.
  6. After submitting the application online, the applicant has to take a print out of the system generated form, and hand it over to the KSEB Ltd personnel, after affixing signature & photograph along with other required documents.
  7. The applicant will be notified for the inspection to be held and extra charges will be there.
  8. During site inspection please produce the original document for verification.
  9. For applicants where overhead line extension or installation of poles (support, insertion etc) is required for effecting service connection, the cost can be ascertained only after field inspection.
  10. On successful inspection, the authorities will install the light in a stipulated period of time.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
  2. The operator will process the application online.
  3. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  4. The street light will be installed in a stipulated period of time.

Eligibility

  • The requesting person should be a permanent residence in that area, and the same is applicable for the other requesting citizens.
