Kerala - Obtain a Caste Certificate


Procedure

Apply through Akshaya

  1. Applicant must visit the nearest Akshaya center. Link for center: link
  2. Applicant shall obtain application form from the centre or download using the link : link
  3. Submit the completed application, document and applicable fees to the centre staff.
  4. Application submitted will be processed and receipt with application number will be issued.
  5. Application will be processed. SMS triggered update on application status will be sent to applicant mobile.
  6. Upon notification applicant shall receive the certificate from where the application submitted.


Apply In-Person

  1. Applicant must visit thasildhar office to apply in-person with the documents specified under required documents session. Link for contact: link and link
  2. Applicant shall obtain the application from office or download from the following link: link
  3. Submit the completed application form and required documents to authorities.
  4. Authorities after checking the attached documents and details submitted, will make entries and provide you record number for reference after the payment for the process. Please pay as per authority quote.
  5. The application will be verified by the Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and Revenue Inspector (RI).
  6. After due verification authorities will submit their report. Based on the report submitted, Thasildhar will decide to issue the caste certificate.
Note :
  • Certificate will be despatched or handed over directly as per the request made while applying. Mostly handover in office will be in practice to get counter signature for the delivered one will be made.
  • In case of any specialised classes, that covers government subsidy and reservation, a notice will be propagated in the applicants residing area to see if there is any objection for the applicant arises.


Apply Online: - Kerala Obtain a Caste Certificate Online with Images

  1. Please go to: link
  2. Applicant has to use the “New PortalUserCreation” option under portal user login to register by completing the following online registration prompts.
  3. As a registered user, please use the login details to login.
  4. In the given page, please select the certificates option from menu and select the respective option to enter the required information for application details(caste certificate), Upload supporting documents and Make payment and generate Acknowledgement (Receipt)
  5. This application will be processed by respective department.
  6. Once the certificate is processed, user shall print the certificate using the same page by login.



Apply Through CSC

  1. To Obtain a caste Certificate, the applicant has to approach respective “CSC” centre link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
  2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
  3. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  4. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  6. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will decide on the issuance of caste certificate.
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.
  12. Once all the process gets completed, the applicant has to visit the office to get the caste certificate.
  13. The processing time for this procedure is completed within 15 – 30days.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must belong to reserved category as Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other backward Community to apply for that category.
  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  • Applicant must be residing in state
  • Applicant should have completed age of 3 years to apply for community certificate.
Note : Please check all eligibility criteria then also check list of documents required for applying for community certificate.




Fees

  • Rs.18/- (Akshaya service charge) + Rs.7 (Govt.Service charge) + Rs.3 per page for scanning /printing
  • SC / ST applicant need to pay Rs 10 + Rs.2 per page for scanning /printing
  • BPL applicant need to pay Rs 20
