Procedure
Apply via Agent
Apply In-Person:
- To apply for temporary residence certificate, applicant has to approach the officer at the village office of your area.

- Get the relevant application form from the authorities and fill the form with valid details appropriately.
- Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
- Submit the form along with the required documents to the authorities.
- Now collect the acknowledgment slip from the authorities.
- After the verification process, applicant shall receive the temporary residence certificate from the office.
Through Akshaya Centres:
- Applicant has to visit the nearest Akshaya centre. Link for contact: Contact. Select “District Officers” to know the contact details of your district.
- Write a letter to the authorities stating the reason for obtaining temporary residence certificate.
- Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
- Submit the letter along with the required documents to the authorities.
- Now collect the acknowledgment slip from the authorities.
- After the verification process, applicant shall receive the temporary residence certificate.

- Aadhaar card
- Residence proof like gas bill, EB bill, Bank passbook etc
- Driving license
- Age proof like Birth certificate, Life insurance copy
- Photo proof like passport
- Attested copy of trading license as per requirement
- Govt. Identity Card /Trading License of Guardian
- Trading/establishment of guardian.
- Certificate stating evidence of guardianship

Eligibility
- Applicant must be the citizen of India.
- Applicant with a valid residence certificate from other state can apply for temporary residence certificate in the state where they are working/doing business.
- Applicant who is going to stay in the state for a short period can apply for temporary residence certificate.

Instructions
- Do not submit fake documents as a proof to obtain residential certificate.
- A residential certificate can be obtained from only one state.
- Applying for residential certificate in another state is an offence.

- Tahsildar / Naib Tahsildar
- District Magistrate
- Sub Divisional Magistrate
- Sub Divisional Officer
- Revenue department authorities
