Failure to comply with licensing conditions may lead to cancellation or suspend the Electrician licence by the commission,An issuing officer may at any time by giving notice in writing to an electrician, a copy of which shall forthwith be sent to the Commission,cancelling or suspend the Licenses of such Electrician or Business thereof until the next Board meeting.

Step 1The Suspended/canceled License of an Applicant Must fill Form S-I set in not more than sixty days and not less than thirty days, or, in the case of any application for revocation of a licence, not more than ninety days and not less than sixty days, before the application is to be made.

The Electrician License may be cancelled on the following grounds;

1. The Commission may vary, suspend or cancel the licence of any licensed electrician upon being satisfied that the licensed electrician has contravened any of the provisions of the Rules 10 of of the Electric Power (Electrical Installation Work)Rules, 2006.
2. The Board may vary, suspend or cancel the licence of any licensed electrician upon being satisfied that the licensed electrician has contravened any of the provisions of the Rules of the Electric Power (Electrical Installation Work)Rules, 2006. Where the Commission suspends or cancels the licence of any licensed electrician it shall remove his name from the register of licensed electricians for the time being licensed under the Rules of the Electric Power (Electrical Installation Work)Rules, 2006.
3. Upon the variation, suspension or cancellation of the licence of any licensed electrician under Electricity Act , the Commission may by written notice to such licensed electrician, disqualify him from holding a licence or a particular type of licence for such period as the Board deems fit.
4. Before exercising its powers under the Electricity Act, the Commission shall by notice in writing afford the licensed electrician whose licence it is proposed to vary, suspend or cancel an opportunity of appearing or being represented before it to show cause why the Commission should not exercise its power under the Rules of the Electric Power (Electrical Installation Work)Rules, 2006.

Step 2 The second step is to submit a set of filled Form S-I to the Commission. This is done by stating the reason . The application must be accompanied with the following documents:

i) Copy of registration certificate (business building),

ii) PIN certificate, and a sketch map of the building,

iii)Permit from city or town council.

• a short title descriptive of the application;
• the date of the intended application;
• the name, address and description of the applicant;
• a statement of the object of and reasons for why the licence is cancelled;
• a description of the area or areas (if any), and of any public or local authority, company, person or body of persons (if any), which will or may be affected by the grant of the application;
• inquiry for supply of electricity form
• Copy of certificate of registration
• Copy of PIN certificate
• Sketch Map to the Premises
• Permit from city/town council
• completed application form which includes Business and Technical Forms.
• Copy of Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency.
• Copy of Business Name Certificate (if applicable).
• Copy of ERC or LEM Certificate/s.
• Copy of Registered Electrical Contractors Electrical Course Completion Certificate.

The Energy Regulatory commission may in its absolute discretion refuse to register or may vary,suspend or cancel the Licence of an Electrician if it fails to comply with licensing conditions of the commission. The commission may also cancel or suspend any registration of any business or branch of a business unless it is satisfied that there is and shall continue to be employed in the /business or branch on a full time basis, an electrician who holds a licence appropriate to the electrical installation work proposed to be undertaken by such business or branch and who is and shall continue to be available to direct all such work.
