Kenya - Obtain a Veterinary Health Certificate


Procedure

Apply In Person:

  1. To obtain a Veterinary health certificate, applicants are required to contact Veterinary officer who is registered and licensed by the Kenya Veterinary Board. Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) Contact Details
  2. Upon receipt of the request the Veterinary Officer shall, and make arrangements for an animal inspection visit and testing.
  3. During the inspection visit the animals should be presented to the veterinary officer for inspection and testing
  4. Where the Veterinary officer is satisfied that the animal is free from pests and diseases, he shall draw up the Veterinary health certificate, certify and issue it to the client, after payment of the prescribed fees. Please refer to the “Fees” section of this page for more information.
  5. The time frame accumulatively for processing the application/request is within 2 working days.

  • Inidviduals/ Farmers/ Businesses / Companies are eligible to make the application.




Fees

  • KES  500 per animal - For issuance of health certificate for cattle
  • KES  400 per animal - For issuance of health certificate for a horse
  • KES  400 per animal - For issuance of a health certificate for a camel
  • KES  200 per animal - For issuance of health certificate for a sheep
  • KES  400 per animal - For issuance of health certificate for a pig
  • KES  200 per animal - For issuance of health certificate for a donkey

  • Names and full address of the place(s) from which the animals are being moved, and official approval or registration number when required
