Apply In Person

1. The application for a Pig Producer License shall be made to the City-County Government -Subcounty Veterinary Office. List of Nairobi sub-county veterinary officers
2. The application shall be made using a prescribed form, obtainable at the Subcounty veterinary office or directly download via this link Application for Pig Producer's Licence (To be submitted in duplicate).
3. Upon obtaining or downloading the applicable Application Form, fill it out and submit to the Authority the completed registration form and required supporting documents as stipulated on the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. On receipt of the application file, the receiving officer shall check for completeness of the form to ensure it meets the application requirements and registers your application as received by issuing the applicant an acknowledgment receipt, upon making payment of the application fees of Ksh.200.00.
5. The receiving officer will forward the application and supporting documents to the next level officer for further scrutiny and confirmation that the application complies with all the requirements.
6. The applicant shall be contacted by a sub-county veterinary officer to schedule a premises inspection and is expected to provide the inspector with all requested information and documents related to the application, where the premises passes the inspection phase, the applicant is issued with a Piggery inspection report.
7. If dissatisfied with the inspection, the veterinary officer shall recommend to the applicant the specific issues that need to be addressed and the timeframe for revisiting the matter.
8. After a successful documents evaluation process and premises inspection, applicants shall be advised to make payment for the license fee i.e Ksh 400.00 before being issued with a pig producer license.
9. The time frame accumulatively for processing the application is usually within two (02) working days.

The validity period of the pig producer license is one (01) year and shall remain valid for that specified period unless suspended, revoked, or cancelled by the Authority.
