Kenya - Change or Update KCPE Certificate

The application to change or update particulars on a KCPE Certificate shall be made to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). KNEC Offices Location & Contact Details

Apply Online

  1. Applicants should type the following URL Link on their devise browser to access the KNEC login portal.
  2. This will navigate the applicant to the login page, if already registered log in with your credentials and click on the “Log In” tab to access the portal.
  3. If not yet registered, click on the “Register” button to register with the QMIS system and acquire your login credentials.
  4. On the registration page, the applicant is required to fill out all the fields and then click on the “Register” button.
  5. Upon successful registering, a confirmation registration mail will be sent to the registered email address with your login credentials (Username & Password).
  6. Click on the login hyperlink on your email, this will navigate you to the login page, enter your login credentials and then click on the “Login” button.
  7. Under the “Query” option located on the menu bar, select “Bio Date Amendment” on the drop-box, this will navigate you to the “Candidates Bio Date Amendment “page.
  8. Enter the Candidate’s index number.
  9. Accurately select the fields as per your queries; Type of Query, Exam, Year, and Series, then click on the “Find” button.
  10. The candidate’s current exam details will be generated and displayed on the screen.
  11. Enter the proposed name in the blank space given.
  12. Upload all the required documents as listed on the “Required List”, then click on the “Submit” button.
  13. Upon submission of the application, the applicant will receive a message (SMS) via the registered mobile number, requesting him/her to make payment of the application fee of Ksh.3000, payment can be made through, mobile payment (M-Pesa) or via direct deposit (Bank). Note; the KNEC account number and pay bill number will be provided through the SMS.
  14. It is only after payment of the application fee that the application will be processed.
  15. After the successful screening of the submitted documents, the KCPE certificate will be updated/modified and the applicant will receive an SMS/email requesting him/her to collect their certificate at the KNEC offices.
  16. While collecting the certificate the applicant will be required to surrender the current KCPE certificate/result slip and produce their identification document to be validated by the KNEC officer.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has automated the process of submitting examination-related queries by clients this including bio date amendment and photo amendment on KNEC certificates. The Query Management Information System (QMIS) is accessible online and therefore; clients do not need to visit the KNEC office physically to raise quarries unless they are collecting documents generated after their quarries have been resolved.
