1. The applicant shall visit the nearby government office (corporation office, municipal office, panchayat office etc) and submit the cancellation application for trade license to the local authority. The license needs to be cancelled by the municipal commissioner or executive officer.
2. Refer the office contact details in the “Office contacts & Locations” section below.
3. The cancellation application can be obtained in the office.
4. The applicant should, within thirty days from the date of closing the establishment, notify to the officer in writing.
5. Please make sure you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Submit the application form along with the required documents.
7. The Officer, after receiving the information and if satisfied about its correctness will remove such establishment from the register of establishments and cancel the trade license.
8. After cancellation, the applicant can get confirmation at the office.

2. User will reach login page. Please enter “User Name”, “Password” and “captcha” as appropriate and click “Login” button.
3. If you are a new user then please use the “New registration” option to reach registration page. Complete the page prompts as appropriate and click “Register” button to register and then login.
4. Please make sure you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page. Upload the documents whichever is necessary.
5. Type necessary details and then click on submit.
6. The applicant should, within thirty days from the date of closing the establishment, notify to the officer.
7. The Officer, after receiving the information and if satisfied about its correctness will remove such establishment from the register of establishments and cancel the trade license.

• The cancellation should be done within the financial year.
• Filing of final tax returns and payment of tax needs to be done before closing.
• Prescribed Form should be used for the Application.

• It is required for closure of a business.
• It is required in order to prevent the government from charging you annual fees and reporting requirements.
• In case anyone misuses your license and causes liabilities for you. So, it is better to cancel license to be on the safer side.

• Before cancelling trade license, pay all taxes owed and file tax returns.

Trade License is issued by the local government like Panchayat, Municipality and Municipal Corporations. It is a permission to do business in the area which comes under the Local Self Government. The Urban and the Housing Department Jharkhand makes the rules and regulation of Municipal Trade Licence for issue, control and regulation of Licence for all the trades within the notified Urban Areas of Jharkhand namely the Nagar Nigam, Nagar Parishad and Nagar Panchayat. The rules are specified in the Jharkhand Municipal Act 2011.
