Apply In-Person:

1. Approach the local Jammu & Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) to register your complaint regarding the faulty electricity meter.
2. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details.
3. Record the complaint according to the office guidelines.
4. Once the complaint is recorded the consumer will be provided with an acknowledgement which needs to be kept safe until further notice.
5. The request will be taken care of by the respective authority.
6. A technician will visit on the address mentioned in the application to inspect the electricity meter.
7. If the electricity meter is found faulty, it is removed and taken to the department lab for checking.
8. The department will inform to the consumer to either collect the repaired meter or the replaced meter until which the consumer needs to wait until further notice from the department.
9. The consumer must follow the department notice and regulations to get the electricity meter fixed.

4. In the webpage, the complaint 10- digit number will be given.

7. The complaint request will be forwarded to the respective officer.
8. A technician will visit the premises as per the address mentioned in the application.
9. The officer will check the meter, if it is fault, the meter will be removed.
10. The applicant has to check the status of further details in the above-mentioned link.
11. The processing time for this procedure is within 30 days.
12. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
