Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Tenant Verification In-Person, get the Tenant Verification form from the nearest police station in Jammu and Kashmir.
2. A copy of the form is available online: Tenant Form.
3. In the procured form, fill the required details of the Landlord.
4. Fill all the required details of the Tenant.
5. Affix the Passport size photograph of the Tenant in the space given.
6. Attach photocopy of Photo ID proof of the Tenant.
7. Duly sign the form and submit the form at the nearest Police Station Police Stations.
8. Pay the processing fee if required.
9. Receive the acknowledgement receipt and keep it safe for further reference.
10. If required, visit the Police Station to get the report once it is ready.

Apply Online : - Apply to get Tenant Verification Online with Images

1. To apply for Tenant Verification online, visit the Jammu and Kashmir Citizen services webpage from the link: Login
2. Create a new user account and login to use the Tenant Verification Service.
3. In the given new window, fill the Landlord’s details.
4. In the same webpage, click on the “Tenant Information Tab”.
5. Fill all the required details by clicking on “Personal Information” and “Address”.
6. Fill all the required details on clicking the Tab, “Family Members Information”.
7. Upload the photo and required documents in the required size and file format.
8. Check the details filled for any correction before you submit the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
9. Pay the required Tenant Verification Processing fee if it is applicable.
10. Your application will now be processed and the police will make verifications to create a Report.
11. Any further details would be sent to the registered Mobile Number.

• Under any circumstances, it is advisable to apply for a Tenant verification certificate before you rent out your Building to a Tenant.
• Terrorists and Criminals usually try to rent a place with forged documents. Thus, conducting a Tenant Verification would ensure that you are renting out your building to someone who is not troublesome.
• Landlords could be booked for renting out a property to a terrorist or a criminal without prior Tenant Verification.

• When one applies for a Tenant Verification, the police runs a complete background check on the Tenant and their details are stored with the police.
• This protects the Tenant from involving in any criminal activities in the near future, since their records are stored with the police.
