Apply In Person

1. To request for registrar’s general certificate, you should make your application to the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO). Please view the JIPO office location map and contact details via this link: - JIPO contacts.
2. Visit the JIPO office to obtain the request form or you can download the form from the JIPO website: - Request form
3. Read and complete the application form as instructed and attach all the required supporting documents to the form.
4. Then go to the JIPO office and pay the necessary application fees at the cashier and obtain the payment receipt.
5. Submit the complete application including the payment receipt to the JIPO official at the service desk for verification.
6. The JIPO official will verify the application and confirm that all the required documents and payments are included and then the application will be forwarded to the responsible official for processing.
7. JIPO will assess the application and approve the request if the application meets all the required merits.
8. The application will be processed by JIPO after approval and you will be issued the registrar’s general certificate.

• Complete application.

• Any other document to support your application.

• Complete the form in capital letters using a black writing pen or type your answers.

• Reference.
• Details of registration.
• Reason for applying.
• Full name of proprietor.
• Address.
• Signature and date.

• The registrar’s general certificate is used to prove matters pertaining to a registered trademark.
