Apply In-Person

1. The government organization that is responsible for issuing or replacing a certificate of citizenship is the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) of Jamaica. Please view PICA’s contact details via this link: Link
2. Write a letter applying for the certified copy of the certificate addressed to:
   

   The Chief Executive Officer

   Passport,

   Immigration and Citizenship Agency

   25c Constant Spring Road

   Kingston 10

3. The application letter should include your Name, Address and File Reference or Certificate number. You should also state what has happened to the original Certificate of Citizenship and why the certified copy is required.
4. Visit the nears police station to your location and obtain a police report stating circumstances to what happened to the original certificate
5. Submit the application letter to the PICA’s office along the police report, a Certified Passport sized photograph of you and the parent’s identification in case of a minor
6. Pay the application fee and obtain the payment receipt
7. Then the application will be processed and a new certified certificate will be issued to you

1. You can submit your complete application to the nearest Jamaican embassy. Please contact your embassy to request if you need to book an appointment to submit your application

• You must have been granted a certificate of citizenship to apply for a replacement

• Local applications: JMD$8000.00 only accepted in Jamaican dollar
• Foreign application: USD$100.00, CAD$110.00, GBP£60.00 or EUR€74.00

• When you apply through a Jamaican consulate/embassy the application may take longer than the normal time for processing applications in Jamaica, it may take 2 to 3 months to complete your application after which the embassy will contact you to collect the certificate once it is availed for collection

• A valid citizenship certificate proves that you a citizen of Jamaica
