Renew Online - Renew Hackney Carriage Licence Online with Images

1. To Renew a Hackney Carriage License, you have to submit your application to the Transport Authority (TA) online. Please view the TA contact details via this link: Link
2. To submit your application to TA via their online portal, visit: Link
3. If you are a register user, enter your email address and password to login and if you don’t have an account, click on “Register Now” to create an account. In the new page, entre your email address and submit, you will then receive a notification informing you that an email has been sent to your email account with instructions on how to complete your account setup.
4. Go to your email account and click on the link form TA to direct you to the TA online registration form and fill in all the required information to create an account
5. Upon a successful creation of your account, return to the logging in page to sign in by entering your registered email address and password to access your account
6. Once logged in, click on “Submit Application” in the new page select type of application as “Renew” and the location where the license will be collected then click on “Next”
7. In the new page enter the road license number and select the type of the license as “Hackney Carriage License-metered” entre you TRN and the vehicle chassis number and then click on next to proceed to the next page
8. Complete the required fields for the vehicle and license information and then scan and upload all the required documents and then select “Add to Cart” and you will be directed to the application cart and payment page
9. View the payment details and click on “check out” to proceed to the payment page, review and confirm your order. Complete the payment using the online platform and you will receive emails confirming the payment and form the TA confirming receipt of the application
10. Print the confirmation report and take it to your selected office once the license is availed for collection, this normally take 3 working days

• Tax payer registration number (TRN)
• Current PPV insurance
• Old/current Hackney Carriage License
• Identification document (Driver’s license, Voters ID or Passport)
• Transport Authority motor vehicle check list
• A letter form taxi company if you are a member

If the vehicle is registered to a company

• Memorandum and Article of association
• Certificate of incorporation
• Police record for all directors
• Tax compliance certificate

Hackney Carriages must have:

• Red PPV licence plates
• A globe bearing the word "Taxi" on the top of the vehicle
• Colour Code: a checked pattern in black and yellow. The pattern should be oriented horizontally and measure 10cm (4”) in height. Each check should be 2.5cm (1”) squares
• A Transport Authority sticker on the windshield
• Transport Authority Driver Identification Card in the vehicle
• Must be fitted with an Electronic Monitoring Device (tracking device)
• The driver must wear a Transport Authority identification badge
• The particulars relating to fares, mileage and charges legibly printed in letters of not less than 1 inch in height on the outside of the front doors
• The driver of every taxi should be in possession of a PPV driver’s licence
• Must be attired in approved uniform

• This license proves that the vehicle is permitted carrying passengers for hire or reward and which stands or plies for hire on thoroughfares or places frequented by the public
