Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Renewal of your driver’s license, you should visit the Tax office of Jamaica. You can view the Tax office contact details via this link: Link
2. Obtain the application for Driver’s license renewal form the Tax office in person or electronically form their website: Link (Form F7-Motor vehicle transactions). You can also download the form directly via this link:Link
3. In section A of the form, tick the renewal box and complete fill the rest of the form accordingly
4. Obtain all the required supporting documents and attach them to the application form
5. Visit the Tax office in your location and pay the renewal fee at the cashier you can also pay the renewal fee online using your credit card and print the payment receipt
6. After payment go to the Tax Office service desk section and submit the complete application to the Tax office official for verification
7. The officer will validate your application and may ask you to do a reading test
8. Upon successful verification, you will then be photographed and the renewal will be processed
9. You will be contacted once the Driver’s License is available for pick up, at the office where you submitted the application

Note

• You will be permitted to drive with the receipt, as proof of payment, along with the current/expired Driver’s License for no more than 60 days.

Application form abroad

1. You must select a delegate in Jamaica to complete the application on your behalf in this case, the application form should be filled out and signed in the presence of a Notary Public/Authorized Jamaican Embassy Officer must sign affix his Stamp/seal to the Form. A recent passport-sized photograph should also be certified and stamped by the Presiding Officer, who should also verify if you are literate.
2. You delegate must present a certified authorization letter form you confirming that he/she is your representative

How to pay Online - Renew Driver License Online with Images

1. To pay the application fee for Driver’s License renewal, visit the Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) website: Link
2. Click on “login” At the top right of the webpage to access your TAJ account or Select “client Login” at the right side of the webpage to log in
3. Enter your user name and password if you already have an account or click on “Create Account” to setup your account. In the new page, fill the required fields and click on “Next”
4. You will then receive a notice thanking you for creating your account, and issue your account password and that the password has been sent to your email address
5. Now key in your password and sign in, then read and agree to the provide policy and you will be direct to the next page where you will be asked a password remainder question. Answer the question and click on “Save” then you will be directed to your account’s eservice portal
6. Scroll down to find and select “Driver’s License Renewal Fee”
7. Read the instruction provided and click on “Next” to proceed with your payment
8. Enter your TRN, driver’s licence expiry date and control number in the fields provided then click the “Next” button
9. The information entered will populate the review page. Based on the information entered, the payment type and amount details will automatically populate view the information and click on “Next” to be directed to the contact information page
10. Enter contact information and click “Next” to proceed to verify payment page
11. Verify the payment details and click “Continue” and then confirm order
12. Enter your credit card information and select “Pay” to make payment
13. When payment is complete, you will receive a “Payment Status” page stating if your payment was successful or not. If successful You will also receive via email: A pdf e-Payment confirmation with your reference number and information on how you may print your receipt
14. Print the payment receipt and attach it to the application form

• Two passport photos (no more than six (6) months old)
• Current expired Driver’s license
• Colour copy of both sides of current expired driver's license.
