1. To Register a motor vehicle, you should visit the Tax Administration Jamaica/Tax Office (TAJ) You can view TAJ offices contact details via this link:Link
2. You should first obtain all the relevant documents involved in the tile transfer of the vehicle; sale invoice from the seller and the Insurance Certificate or Cover Note.
3. Then obtain the application form for vehicle registration (Application for Motor vehicle Transaction (s) MV01) from the tax office or download form TAJ’s website through this link:Link alternatively you can download the form directly via this link:Link
4. Complete the necessary sections of the form and mark the correct box since the for is for multiple application
5. Prepare all the required supporting documents for the registration and attach them to the complete application form
6. Go to the Tax office and submit the complete application to the TAJ official at the registration section for verification
7. The officer will check to confirm that all the required documents are present and in proper order and direct you to pay the registration fee
8. Pay the registration fee at the cashier and obtain the payment receipt
9. Upon payment, the registration request will be processed and you will be issued with your own registration plate, a Certificate of Registration and Title.

• Receipt and Invoice from Motor Car Dealer
• Copy of original Import Entry (C78) signed by Customs and two photocopies
• Identification, e.g. Passport or Driver’s License
• Letter of authorization along with the company stamp if application is for a company
• Private Import - Original and Copy of Import License

• Ensure that the engine and chassis numbers on the Certificate of Registration match the engine and chassis numbers on the vehicle.
• Ensure the Seller has the Title for the vehicle and it is issued in his name.
