Apply In-Person

1. To obtain costume rental service in Jamaica, you have to submit your application to the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC). Please view the JCDC contact details via this link:Link
2. Obtain the application form for rental of costumes from the JCDC office or download the form through this link:Link
3. Complete the application form and visit the JCDC office
4. Pay the rental fee of each costume and a caution fee of ten thousand dollars at the cashier of the JCDC and obtain the payment receipt
5. Submit your application along with the payment receipt to the JCDC service unit
6. A JCDC official will verify your application and avail the costume/s you are renting for inspection
7. Both you and the JCDC official will ascertain that the costume/s are in good condition
8. Then you will collect the rented costume/s proceed with your function. Note that you can collect the rental costume/s two days before the event and after paying all the required fees
9. Once you have complete using the costume/s, return them to the JCDC two days after the event. Note that if you do not return the costume/s within two days, they will attract a daily fine of two thousand dollars per day and the fine will be deducted from the caution fee
10. Upon returning the costume/s, a JCDC official will examine the costume/s in your presence or the presence of a representative and confirm that they are in the condition they were in when the costume/s was rented to you.
11. If the costume/s are in a good condition and you have delivered them at the right time, the caution fee will be refunded to you, however, if the costume/s is damaged or there is a deduction to be made, the JCDC will deduct the amount and give you the balance after seven working days

• It is your responsibility to collect and return the costume/s within the specified period during regular office hours i.e., Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
• Costume/s rented for international travel should be delivered within two days after returning to the island.
