Apply In-Person

1. To clear your personal goods imported through a courier agency, you should visit the customs office where the item is stored. You can view the Jamaican Customs Agency (JCA) contact details via this link: Link
2. Obtain the application form for clearing the items from the JCA office and complete
3. Then prepare all documents required to clear your items as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below
4. Then go to the customs warehouse where the items are kept and submit the complete application to the customs clearing officer at the customs warehouse
5. The official will verify documents and ascertain the Free on Board (FOB) value of the items
6. Once the application is verified, the imported items will be located and inspected by the customs officer and if the FOB value is greater than USD 50, you will be required to pay the excess customs charges
7. You will then be provided with a gate pass and the item/s will be allowed to exit the customs warehouse

• Valid identification such as Passport, National ID, or Jamaican Driver’s Licence
• Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN)
• Bill of Lading or Airway Bill
• Proper Invoice (where applicable)
• Import Permit or Import Licence (where applicable)
