Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a breeder farm license, you should visit the Ministry of Industry, Commerce Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF). Please view the ministry’s contact information in the “Office Locations & Contacts” or via their website: Link
2. Obtain the application form from the MICAF office in person or download it directly via this link: Link you can also download the application form from the MICAF website: Link click “Next” to go to page two (2) to find the application form (Breeder Farm Application form)
3. Read through the application form carefully and complete the application form and then attach all the required supporting documents as instructed in the application form
4. Submit the complete application and pay the required fee to the MICAF office service desk section. Note that for request for inspection of hatchery, you must write a letter to the Veterinary Services Division (VSD) the Competent Authority, 193 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6, Jamaica.
5. The inspector will notify you of in writing within fourteen working days and you must indicate by notice to the Inspector or the VSD (the Competent Authority) as to when the deficiencies will be corrected for further inspection.
6. The Veterinary Committee will review all the applications and make their recommendation to the VSD (the Competent Authority) accordingly.
7. Upon the recommendation, will be notified in writing of approval or denial of license.
8. If approved, the appropriate Registration Licence and Operating Certificates will be issued by the VSD the competent Authority once you pay in full all required fees.
