Apply In-Person

1. To apply for calibration of an external caliper, you should make your application to the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ). Please view the BSJ contact details through this link: - BSJ Contacts.
2. Obtain the application form for calibration from any of the BSJ offices in Kingstone, Montego Bay, Mandeville, Ocho Rios, or Savanah-La-Ma. You can also request the application form through email or telephone.
3. Complete the application form as instructed.
4. Prepare the external caliper to be calibrated and all the required supporting documents then visit the BSJ office.
5. Pay the application fees at the cashier and obtain the payment receipt.
6. Submit the complete application form and the external caliper to the BSJ official at the service desk and collect the acknowledgment receipt of the application.
7. The external caliper will be forwarded to the BSJ metrology lab for adequate analysis and calibration as per the BSJ standards.
8. The BSJ inspectors at the lab will calibrate the external caliper to the right readings.
9. Visit the BSJ office and collect the calibrated external caliper.

• All testing at the BSJ is done according to the standard test method using calibrated equipment traceable to primary standards.
• The BSJ test will ensure that the products are within acceptable limits of labels claimed and safe for intended use.
